Harvey Miller, the Bob and Mary Reusche Chair in Geographic Information Science (GIS) and professor of geography, has been selected for the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS) 2015 Research Award. The award is given to the creator of a particularly outstanding research contribution to geographic information science. Miller is widely regarded as the world’s foremost contributor in theory, methods and applications of space-time GIScience. His groundbreaking research paper, “Modeling accessibility using space-time prism concepts within geographical information systems,” was the first work to link time geography with GIScience. Miller will receive his award during the upcoming UCGIS Symposium in Alexandria, Virginia, May 28-30.
