  • B.A., Philosophy, Ohio Dominican University
  • Associate of Arts (Summa Cum Laude), Columbus State Community College

As a young woman, Katie built her career around developing small, struggling choirs into larger, proficient ones and worked extensively as a professional singer throughout the Columbus area. She decided to pursue a different path after her kids were grown, settling on going back to school to complete her degree. She graduated in 2015 with her BA in Philosophy from Ohio Dominican University, where she began working immediately following graduation, initiating her career in higher ed. She started to pursue an MBA, but when she found herself at tOSU, she switched to Philosophy of Education (a better match for her new career in Instructional Design). Katie's interests are the neuroscience of learning, the impact of subculture on education and success, and the intersection of philosophy with just about anything, but most specifically music and education. For fun, she sings, collects cool rocks with her grandson, and reads voraciously.
