Matthew Willis works largely in the field of social epistemology on the subject of epistemic responsibility and, more narrowly, what sorts of epistemic obligations we might have as well-mannered reasoners in a state of general uncertainty. He connects this work to broader concerns about social injustice – arguing that some failures in social epistemic responsibility contribute to a feedback loop between oppression and epistemic injustice.
