Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Jesse Plascak is faculty within the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Division of Cancer Prevention and Control, and co-leader of the Cancer Control Program within the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center. He studies relationships between social and built environment factors and various cancer outcomes with a focus on survival outcomes among breast and colorectal cancers. Several projects investigate the role of neighborhood disinvestment in cancer survival and mechanisms of survival. These projects are designed to better understand cancer outcomes and inform feasible practices and policies that can improve cancer outcomes. Communicating with and learning from people who are or could be impacted by cancer is crucial to the success and sustainability of such practices and policies.
