Museums are so much more than what we see on a visit. Join us in October to go behind the scenes and hear all about the inner workings of the Museum of Biological Diversity with our speaker, Meg Daly, the director of the Museum of Biological Diversity at The Ohio State Universisty. Meg chose to study systematics out of an interest in the how, why, and what of diversity. Sea anemones are her study organism because they appear to be very simple but they are in fact incredible complex. She has traveled to California, Ireland, and Japan, just to name a few places, to expand the museum's holdings. These trips pale in comparison to getting to ride Alvin the Deep Sea Vessel to collect anemones. Not a bad deal! Meg will be talking about her work on anemones to illustrate the importance of museums to science.
