STEAM Factory Holiday Open House during Franklinton Friday
Join us on Friday, December 11th, 2015 as the STEAM Factory hosts its Franklinton Friday Holiday Open House! There will be fun for the whole family including fascinating faculty demonstrations, engaging art and science activities, egg nog and refreshments. We are located on the second floor of 400 West Rich in the vibrant and creative Franklinton neighborhood. This is a family friendly event so spread the word!The December 2015 STEAM Factory Franklinton Friday fun will include:A variety educational and interactive STEAM Factory faculty research demonstrations and activities Holiday Food, Toy and Clothing Drive – Share your generosity this holiday season. Bring your non-perishable food items, clothing and toys that will benefit non-profit outreach organizations right here in FranklintonSTEAM Factory Kids Corner – fun and activities for kids of all ages, young and old alikeEgg Nog and refreshments to whet your whistleThis month's highlights will include research demonstrations and activities from:Paul Sutter – It's "Ask a Spaceman" Live! Our resident astrophysicist will be answering any and all space questions so that Franklinton can experience complete knowledge of time and space! Also we will be showing off some cute and fun physics-themed toys! (The Ohio State University Center for Cosmology and Astro-Particle Physics)Leonardo Carrizo - Portraits and Light Modifiers: Have fun in this photography portrait session using off-camera flash and multiple light modifiers to achieve different looks (The Ohio State University Department of Communications)Nancy Santagata – Crazy Cool Chemistry with Dr. Nancy – slushies, frozen snacks, and general fun with liquid nitrogen, (The Ohio State University Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry)This is also a great time to shop the local goodies from Franklinton artists, designers and creatives. Enjoy craft libations and food at Strongwater, Land Grant Brewery and other area attractions.
