Since a huge part of what we do is to help new faculty broaden both their personal and scholarly networks at Ohio State, we have created a series of “Behind the Scenes” events focused on addressing common topics of interest to our incoming faculty, with plenty of time for networking amongst attendees. Keep an eye on your inbox as our first new faculty event is scheduled for September: “Behind the Scenes: Forming your Network Within and Outside of your Department”. Register here. This is an informal introductory virtual event (we can’t wait to meet safely again in person when the time is right), beginning with a existing STEAM members discussing how they found likeminded peers and senior mentors when they first arrived at Ohio State. There will also be ample opportunity to chat informally in smaller breakout groups. We will follow up with further details as the event nears, and there will be additional Behind the Scenes topics throughout the year; we will be seeking your input as to which topics (the tenure process, grantwriting, teaching) to cover at the next event.
