Winona LaDuke, “Indigenous Politics Today: A Discussion”

Winona LaDuke is a renowned environmentalist, Indigenous rights activist, and the Program Director for Honor the Earth. She also founded the White Earth Land Recovery Project, which won the 2003 International Slow Food Award for Biodiversity. She has written extensively on tribal land rights, Native women writers, sustainable food production, the militarization of Indian Country, and authored the novel,Last Standing Woman,in 1997. Ms. LaDuke appears frequently on Democracy Now!and recently has been busy protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline at Standing Rock, advocating for indigenous water and food rights, and fighting Enbridge’s proposed Line 3 pipeline (#STOPLINE3).
