Education

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, UC San Diego
  • MA of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs, Ohio State University

Ada Keohane manages the Humanitarian Engineering Scholars, a 2-year undergraduate living-learning program centered on the themes of human-centered design and community-engaged learning. Their work emphasizes global issues, sustainability, intercultural awareness, community-centered design, and low-resource engineering. Students leave the program as more thoughtful, empathetic, and culturally competent scientists and engineers.

Ada is passionate about human rights, lived environments, and accessible technology, and uses their backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering and Higher Education to motivate student learning in and out of the classroom. Outside of work, they’re an avid roller blader, rock climber, and COTA rider, who’s just as likely to spend a 4-hour stretch exploring the outdoors, or getting lost in a video game.
