Dr. Amy Heintz holds seven patents, with 13 more on the way. She's also Battelle's 2016 Inventor of the Year and she'll be talking chatting with us on September 6 about nanotechnology and using it to break the rules. How do you manipulate matter to create amazing new materials that could change our lives? For the last decade, she has worked on the Superman of materials: More conductive than copper and stronger than steel. Or sort of. She’ll talk about the challenges of realizing the potential of nanotechnology, dealing with the hype, and bringing near-term benefits to industry, while keeping an eye on the long-term prize.
The presentation will start promptly at 7pm but we ask that if you'd like to order food before the event, please arrive by 6:15pm. The Columbus Science Pub is a free event that aims to present scientific issues of general interest to the public in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. No science background? No problem!! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to be active in the discussion.
