The Research Commons and the STEAM Factory welcome Nigerian-American media artist and researcher Mimi Onuoha for a virtual guest lecture watch party! Join us for a great guest lecture and discussion with other attendees!
Onuoha earned her B.A. from Princeton University and her MPS from NYU Tisch’s Interactive Telecommunications Program, where she is an adjunct faculty member. Her work uses emerging technology to address cultural contradictions within technology. Her multimedia practice focuses on the ways in which people are differently abstracted, represented, and classified by data and digital systems. She has spoken and exhibited nationally and internationally in venues like Mao Jihong Arts Foundation (Chengdu) in collaboration with Le Centre Pompidou (Paris), FIBER Festival (Amsterdam), the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (Scottsdale), La Gaitê Lyrique (Paris), and B4BEL4B Gallery (San Francisco).
