Chamber Brews!

On Thursday June 8th, the STEAM Factory opened its doors to host Chamber Brews for a special filled event for music lovers! Chamber Brews is a performance series that focuses on audience engagement and giving a new home to classical music. This time the event was named "In Memoriam" featuring works by Ramsey Sadaka, Maurice Ravel, Wolfgang A. Mozart, and Elliott Carte. The chamber quartet included Tom Fetherston on violin 1, Devin Copfer playing the violin 2 part, Rachael Keplin on viola, and Elisabeth Jeremica on cello.

In addition to great performances, Jeni's ice cream was provided along with some fresh fruit. Chamber Brews connects audiences with killer musicians by combining music, food, beer, coffee, and conversation. After each piece was played the musicians open the floor to discuss the music, and the history tying into the piece and the composer. Audience members are free to ask questions throughout the evening as well.  To end the evening, while playing their final piece a visual artist, Libby Dawn came in to interpret the music and then draw something based off of the performance. The audience was also encouraged to draw or create something based off of what they heard. Everyone ended up with their own master pieces! It was such a delight to host Chamber Brews and it was the perfect way to combine performance art and visual art within the Franklinton community.
