Ten Ohio State faculty and instructors, including STEAM member Gala Korniyenko, have been selected to participate in the 2023 Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) community where they will design and integrate virtual global and intercultural learning experiences into general education and disciplinary curricula.

COIL, or virtual exchange, connects Ohio State’s faculty and students with diverse peers in international higher education institutions where they can engage in intercultural dialogue and meaningful collaboration. COIL projects range from team-taught courses between faculty at two different institutions, class-to-class interactions among students on a selected topic, shared collaboration projects between student groups from diverse cultural backgrounds, and virtual guest lectures. The COIL experience is designed with the goal of developing intercultural competence in students and building faculty networks internationally.
