Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. Tanya Berger-Wolf, the director of the Translational Data Analytics Institute at Ohio State and a STEAM member, was recently quoted in an article by Gizmodo titled, "Ohio State University Researchers Are Using AI to Understand Changing Biodiversity." Recently, Berger-Wolf was awarded a U.S. National Science Foundation grant to establish a new field of study: imageomics. As a computational ecologist, her research is at the unique intersection of computer science, wildlife biology and social sciences.
