V.M. (Bala) Balasubramaniam, is a Professor of Food Engineering at The Ohio State University (OSU), Columbus, OH, USA. Dr. Bala leads multi-disciplinary university-industry research efforts in the development of various clean process technologies that satisfy consumer demand for minimally processed wholesome and nutritious foods with reduced or no use of preservatives. Dr. Bala authored over 125 peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, food processor factsheets and co-edited two books on nonthermal food processing.
