Courtney Price serves as the Education and Outreach Specialist for the Center for Applied Plant Sciences (CAPS) and the Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center (ABRC), as well as the Program Coordinator for the Translational Plant Sciences (TPS) Graduate Program. In these roles, she brings together her years of experience in informal education with a passion for science communication, public engagement and making science accessible and fun for all audiences. Through the outreach initiatives of both CAPS and ABRC, Courtney and her colleagues reach approximately 4,000 students, teachers and members of the general public each year.
Courtney received her BS in Wildlife Biology from Ohio University, and her MA in Zoology from Miami University. Throughout her education she traveled to Brazil, Trinidad, Belize, Kenya and Thailand to study biology, community-based conservation and environmental education. Courtney has worked as an educator since 2002, developing and facilitating programs for individuals ranging in age from preschool through adulthood.
